In the South, the church fan has long symbolized a sacred kind of cool, rooted in Black Baptist traditions, Sunday style, and resistance. These fans reminded us that Blackness is distinctive, powerful, and worth preserving. The GANZY draws from that legacy but reimagines it. Out of respect, we don’t call them church fans. We call them GANZY fans, tools of expression and survival carrying a new kind of gospel.

The Miss Black Extraordinary (MBE) edition features Gia Love, honoring the radiance that pours from Black trans women, even in a world that tries to dim their light. These fans are love letters and loudspeakers, calling attention to the violence often ignored by the media and even within our own communities. MBE fans demand visibility, care, and revolutionary Black love for every form it takes.

With this release, a portion of proceeds will go toward Gia Love’s ongoing activism across New York City, including The Celebration of Black Trans Women Cookout on August 21, a community gathering dedicated to joy, safety, and sisterhood.

Black trans women are Black culture. Period. These fans aren’t just about staying cool, they’re about turning up the volume.
